About CDNA
Chelsea & District Netball Association (CDNA) is affiliated with Netball Victoria and became an incorporated Association in 1963.
We are based at Chelsea Sportswomen Centre, Sturdee St Chelsea and this is also the home base for our 6 local clubs.
We are affiliated with the Southern Saints Netball Club (Victorian Netball League - VNL) and support the full gamut of netball from entry level, local community competitions to representative netball programs through to the elite level in the Victorian Netball League (VNL).
With over 1000 registered players, CDNA provides fun, friendly and inclusive netball competitions in the Chelsea & surrounding areas. We currently offer NetSetGo & Junior competitions. We run two Seasons a year: Feb - June and July - November. We hope to introduce additional netball programs in the near future.
We have offered a representative program for many decades which supports keen and enthusiastic netballers with interests to develop and extend their skills and opportunities. The players range from Under 11’s through to Under 19’s.

Our Journey
CDNA was established in 1963 and was based at St Joseph’s Primary School, Station St Chelsea. In full co-operation with the school and the City of Chelsea we commenced competitions on a Saturday on the asphalt school grounds / carpark. With four courts, a small administration office and canteen the Chelsea & District Netball Association was established.
Competitions were played every year at this location until our relocation to the Chelsea Sportswomen Centre on July 6, 1985. We then hosted many competitions in both juniors and seniors on a Saturday, ladies on Tuesday morning and two night comps on Monday (mixed) and Wednesday (ladies).
We shared the facility with Chelsea Marching Girls (no longer active) and Chelsea Calisthenics Club (CCC) for many years. Working with each of these Committees the council and club volunteers formed the Committee Of Management (COM) that CDNA and CCC still participate in together today to manage the centre.
CDNA have operated from this site for the past 40 years seeing upgrades to the facilities in November 2011 and again in June 2024.
CDNA is committed to providing appropriate programs and administration for its members and we look forward to extending our programs to be more inclusive for all as our community grows.
