Netball Victoria's Commitment to Child Safety
Every person in the netball community has a responsibility to understand their role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people in our care.
Netball Victoria is committed to promoting and protecting the rights of children and preventing abuse from occurring by fostering a culture where children feel safe and empowered.
We also seek to ensure the cultural safety of First Nations children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds and children with a disability. -
Child Safe Code of Conduct
Click Here for Further DetailsThe Child Safety in Netball Code of Conduct outlines the expected behaviour for interactions within Netball in Victoria and aligns with the Child Safety in Netball Policy. The primary aim of this code is to protect and safeguard Children and Young People. The Code and Policy applies to Netball Victoria and its members as of 1 January 2017. Breaches of the Policy may lead to disciplinary sanctions in accordance with the processes provided in Part 3 of the Policy.

The policy sets out Netball Victoria's commitment to the protection of Children and Young People, as well as outlining the types of behaviours expected from those bound by the policy.

Working With Children Check
Apply for a Working With Children CheckThe first step of the Child Safety policy requires that all individuals 18 years of age or older, who are in positions of responsibility where they have any interaction with junior members 17 years of age and younger, must have an approved Victorian Working With Children Check. These positions include Coaches, Team Managers, Umpires, Committee Members and Competition Staff.
